A Staff Scientist position is available in Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope. The Staff Scientist series is designed for career research professionals whose primary function is to support the research infrastructure and activities of the institution. Staff Scientists will bring special skills, knowledge and experience to research programs or institutional core laboratories. Individuals appointed as staff scientists will receive a one-year fixed-term contract.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Design, conduct, and document research projects in immunology and cancer biology and therapeutics including animal experiments.
  • Develop complex animal models for preclinical testing of new cancer and immune therapies.
  • Teach research to research associates, postdoctoral fellows, technicians, participate in writing of manuscripts and grant applications.

Your qualifications should include:

  • The Staff Scientist must possess, at a minimum, the U.S. equivalent Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline, and will often have a Ph.D. or other doctoral level degree.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $38.67 - $123.37 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
