Summary

The dynamic team at the Division of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine is looking for a Research Technician I, who is passionate, organized, and eager to contribute to groundbreaking research in general thoracic surgery and lung transplantation. As a valued member of the team, the technician will develop technical skills and academic knowledge to complete lab experiments, collaborating closely with fellow scientists in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Job Duties

  • Executes in vitro and in vivo lab experiments under the supervision of senior researchers.
  • Documents experimental procedures, results, and any relevant observations.
  • Assists setting up and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Interfaces with clinical providers to receive and process patient samples that includes surgeons, pathologists, nurses, doctors.
  • Collects data under the supervision of senior researchers.
  • Enters data into databases, maintaining records, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Adheres to laboratory safety protocols and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.
