Job Description

Summary

The Senior Sponsored Programs Analyst will oversee the effort to secure funding for research by coordinating the pre-award grant application process for faculty applying for federal, state, and private funding. They will also oversee the quality control of data entry and prepare subcontracts for consortium institutions, along with reviewing and negotiating research contracts and agreements with industry and academic institutions.

Would consider hybrid or remote work schedule for this role.

Job Duties

  • Consult with faculty regarding grant funding opportunities and coordinate thorough, but timely, review and approval of grant applications and associated budgets, while ensuring that required approvals for the submission of grant applications are in place.
  • Certify data in electronic proposal system-Biomedical Research and Assurance Information network (BRAIN) and prepare reports using BRAIN data and contract tracking data, as well as eRA Commons, eBRAP, grants.gov and any other online management system to securely share, manage and process grant related information.
  • Negotiate contracts, including drafting alternative language.
  • Present information related to grants and contracts, as well as serve as information resource to faculty, students and staff.
  • Coordinate awards with post-award financial offices.
  • May support faculty in clinical trial start-up processes including CTA execution, budget development and enrollment in clinicaltrials.gov as appropriate.
  • Prepare and interpret financial reports on faculty members receiving funding, along with any necessary accounting adjustments to close out grants based on faculty members' financial decisions.
  • May serve as information resource for faculty, students and staff.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field and/or Certification by the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA)
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong experience with computer spreadsheets and database management.
  • Knowledge of the following database search engines may be needed: PubMed, Medline, CINAHL, Cochrane, EMBASE, Nursing Consult, AHRQ and other EBP websites.
  • Reliability and flexibility to meet pre-determined deadlines is essential, as well as the ability to interact affably with physicians, residents, and staff.
