Job Description
The goal of this research is to develop empirically-grounded models for the visual analysis and communication of scientific datasets. I will first characterize the data visualization practices and needs of scientific users through interviews and surveys. Using this knowledge, I will then conduct experiments to test the effectiveness of different visualization techniques.
This research will contribute new insights on how to create effective visualizations. The work will be published in venues such as IEEE VIS, TVCG, and ACM CHI. The results will also be disseminated to the ANL community through talks and collaboration with domain scientists.
