Job Description

We invite you to apply for the Lead Systems Engineer (Windows) position vacated after a recent promotion.  In this role, you will lead the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of highly visible, mission-critical, enterprise-wide infrastructure technologies and services.  You will also act as the lead subject matter expert and implementation leader for several of these services, while providing team support for a broad range of supporting technologies and services.  Responsible for the development of strategic roadmaps for key services and technologies, providing leadership and holding accountability throughout their lifecycle – from inception to retirement. 

Additional responsibilities include: 

  • Maintaining a significant understanding of fundamental infrastructure technologies, including enterprise virtualization, cloud applications, centralized storage systems, automation, high availability technologies, network concepts, etc.  

  • Often acting as a project leader within the infrastructure department and representing the department on significant enterprise-wide projects. 

  • Working closely with information technology business analysts to help translate business problems into IT solutions from an infrastructure and centralized service perspective.   

  • Providing technical guidance and delegating responsibilities for junior technicians. 

This work is accomplished with minimal direction from management and determines objectives of assignments with significant latitude. 

This is a full-time position, with standard office hours of Monday-Friday, 830am-5pm. Remote, hybrid, and/or in-person work environments are supported for this role.

  • Experience with design, implementation, and maintenance of critical infrastructure services in an enterprise information technology environment. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Office 365 and Azure systems administration, configuration, and optimization. 

  • Experience with writing scripts, and knowledge of the software development lifecycle and methodologies. 

  • Project management skills  

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills with attention to enterprise stakeholders and end-users 

To perform the essential functions of this position successful applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, which is required to comply with federal regulations and contract.

The selected candidate will be placed at the appropriate level (PT3 or PT4) dependent upon the depth and breadth of relevant knowledge and skills brought to the position, as well as the amount of relevant experience. The requirements of the various levels are as follows: 

  •  PT3 Level: Bachelor’s and 4+ years of experience or equivalent 
  • PT4 Level: Bachelor’s and 6+ years of experience or equivalent
