The Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S) organization delivers the following capabilities for Pfizer. Business application platforms supporting Pfizer’s enterprise application and critical business processes. Infrastructure allowing business traffic to travel where it needs to go, internally and externally, along with the appropriate access controls. EP&S secures Pfizer's most important information assets through world class controls and protections and enables Pfizer's business results by making security an enabler and not a roadblock to achieving business results.

The Digital Hosting Solutions (DHS) team represents the Digital Center of Excellence (CoE) for cloud infrastructure capabilities, providing foundational public and private cloud services to all business lines, globally across Pfizer. DHS is a high-performing team, focused on delivering secure, scalable, compliant, operationally viable, and cost-effective cloud solutions. As an Associate Cloud Engineer, you will be a key member of our engineering team, assisting in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud-based systems and services. This entry-level role is perfect for engineers who are eager to learn and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will work closely with our senior cloud engineers and leaders, gaining hands-on experience with various cloud platforms and services. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the development and deployment of cloud applications, managing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring optimal performance and security of our cloud systems.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Pfizer Engineers must operate with the highest levels of integrity, as colleagues within DHS are often entrusted with the highest levels of access to development and production environments. The ability to protect confidential information, identify risks, mitigate non-compliance, and operate within defined policies & procedures is a must.

• Assist in the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based applications and services under the guidance of senior cloud engineers.
• Help manage and monitor cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
• Participate in the implementation of cloud solutions, including migration of existing services to the cloud.
• Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues in the cloud environment.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of documentation for cloud processes, systems, and procedures.
• Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new cloud technologies and best practices.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing for cloud-based systems.
• Work closely with other team members to understand and implement functional requirements and updates.
• Support the team in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards in the cloud environment.
• Continuously learn and stay updated with emerging trends and developments in cloud technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in software development, with a focus on cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Eagerness to learn and continuously improve.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated experience in an agile work environment possessing qualities such as a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Certifications in cloud technologies from providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including the deployment and management of cloud resources using IaC.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in a regulated industry, with a strong understanding of compliance requirements related to cloud computing.
