Job Description

Summary

The Department of Psychiatry is recruiting Full Time Position will provide assessment and therapy services to patients with mental health and substance use problems at community health clinics of Harris Health System.  This position will have an opportunity to work on site and remotely.  This position is located at the Pasadena Pediatric Clinic 3925 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, TX 77504.

 

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team, have excellent organizational and time management skills, have excellent written and spoken communication skills, working knowledge of client/community resources and experience in
developing relationships with same, and have the ability to work independently.  Will also have computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and EPIC (electronic medical
record), and bilingual in English/Spanish.

Job Duties

  • Provides Advanced Assessment for behavioral health problems for patients referred
  • by health care providers at community clinics: with urgent needs, example, crisis, counseling, emotional support and be able to perform psychosocial assessment. 
  • Develops treatment plans for patients to address their mental health and
  • substance use problems.
  • Provides therapeutic interventions of individual, group and family
  • therapy for mental health and substance use problems.
  • Liaisons with physicians, nurses, and psychiatry staff regarding patient
  • care and treatment.
  • Enters notes and charges in EPIC.
  • Maintains CME credits 
  • Follows state regulations and compliance.
  • Attends monthly meetings with leadership.  
  • Accommodates walk-in patients in crisis or with urgent needs.
  • Attends center staff meetings as required.
  • Attends CBHP faculty meetings.
  • Attends training classes or orientations as required by Harris Health Hospital System or Baylor College of Medicine.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), LCSW-S, or LPC-S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in diagnosing mental health and substance use disorders according to DSM V Diagnostic Criteria.
  • Experience in treating mental health disorders.
  • Experience providing individual, group, crisis and family counseling.
  • Familiarity with and experience in referring patients to substance abuse and crisis treatment facilities.
