Job Description

SCU MOONLIGHTER

Function: To provide in-house coverage of medical SCU patients
Scope: All competencies are within the scope of practice of a general internist.

QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum Required):

- Education:
  - MD/DO or equivalent (Field of study - Internal Medicine)
- Licensure/Certification:
  - Florida Medical License
  - Board Certification in Medicine
  - ACLS (preferred)
- Experience:
  - Successful completion of Internal Medicine Residency
    JOB COMPONENTS:
- Provides in-house coverage of medical SCU patients.
- The scope of these services shall be sufficient to arrive at a reasonable clinical impression and treatment plan to ensure patient safety and stability (e.g. ordering medications to control pain, nausea, hyperglycemia, hypertension, arrhythmias, heart failure, and correct electrolyte disturbances).
- These are all competencies within the scope of practice of a general internist.
