Job Description

SCU MOONLIGHTER

Function: To provide in-house coverage of medical SCU patients
Scope: All competencies are within the scope of practice of a general internist.

QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum Required):

    • Education:
      • MD/DO or equivalent (Field of study - Internal Medicine)
    • Licensure/Certification:
      • Florida Medical License
      • Board Certification in Medicine
      • ACLS (preferred)
    • Experience:
      • Successful completion of Internal Medicine Residency
        JOB COMPONENTS:
    • Provides in-house coverage of medical SCU patients.
    • The scope of these services shall be sufficient to arrive at a reasonable clinical impression and treatment plan to ensure patient safety and stability (e.g. ordering medications to control pain, nausea, hyperglycemia, hypertension, arrhythmias, heart failure, and correct electrolyte disturbances).
    • These are all competencies within the scope of practice of a general internist.
