Job Summary
The candidate is required to do research on electromagnetic transients in power systems, high voltage engineering, and power system areas. The candidate should be able to write technical reports and articles in English and communicate effectively. A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in Power and Familiarity with COMSOL Multiphysics, EMTP-RV, and PSS/E are needed.

No remote work available for this position.
Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D in a related field.

Preferred Education and Experience
Preference will be given to applicants with solid experience in the required topics as postdoctoral fellows and/or working in the industry. Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with Power System major is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate is required to characterize the accelerated insulation aging problem under wide bandgap (WBG)-based voltages, and develop high-frequency electromagnetic transient models for rotating machines, transformers, cables, and transmission lines to determine (i) overvoltages, (ii) electrical stress, and (iii) thermal stress on different components including motor and transformer windings, and stress grading systems in electrical motors and cable terminations under WBG-based voltages pluses. Familiarity with high voltage engineering, dielectric and electrical insulation, electromagnatic transients in power systems, power system analysis and planning, and multiphysics modeling is necessary. The candidate should be able to write technical reports and articles in English and communicate effectively. The candidate should be able to work with COMSOL Multiphysics, EMTP-RV, and PSS/E.
