Job Description

The candidate will take part in the fabrication of scanning tunneling microscopes, magnetic force microscopes and scanning Hall probes in the Materials Science Division (MSD) at Argonne. The primary goal will be to set up an operational cryogenic scanning probe microscope based on the current design at MSD. Candidate will also be an expert of mesoscopic device fabrication and characterization. Utilize skills and the existing facilities at Argonne to experimentally address some of the challenging problems on quantum materials, such as the realization and detection of novel topological states of matter, investigation of the topological physics with other physical orders, investigation of candidate topological superconductors and the realization of FFLO states.
