Special Instructions to Applicant:
The Department of Mathematics at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) invites applications for a non-tenure track full-time lecturer position starting January 2023 or August 2023. This is a one-year (nine-month), renewable appointment. Your responsibilities will include teaching courses appropriate to the needs of the department and maintaining office hours. In addition, you may have other duties as designated by the department chair. The teaching load is 8 courses (24 hrs) per year (Fall and Spring). Summer teaching is possible. Responsibility includes day, evening and/or off campus teaching.

Successful candidates must have earned at least a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics and statistics before the employment starts. Evidence of excellence in teaching and interpersonal communication skills is also required. Experience in teaching mathematics and statistics for elementary education, developmental mathematics or credit-bearing core courses is a plus. Services at both the departmental and university levels are also expected.

About the University/College
Founded in 1967, AUM is the metropolitan campus of Auburn University and serves a diverse student body of around 5,000 students. The Department of Mathematics offers a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and minors in statistics and data science. Students wishing to major in mathematics may choose concentrations in traditional mathematics, statistics, or data science. In addition, the department coordinates a two-year pre-engineering program that prepares students to transfer to an engineering school (usually the main campus of Auburn University).
