Job Description

Position Highlights:

Responsible for the efficient and effective management of Clinic Coordination Assistants (CCA's) and the patient medical record collection process. Works collaboratively with Clinic Coordination Assistants (CCAs), nurses, physicians, midlevel, administrators, outside organizations, and other staff to provide the highest quality patient care and customer service. Also serves as a business owner for medical record collection systems

3. Demonstrated ability to plan and organize unit environment to provide optimal care to patients

7. Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling assignments

8. Ability to operational guidance and leadership to all professional and technical staff

9. Ability to assist and support staff during transition and change

 

 Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day operations of medical record collection. Ensure the competency of all staff and develop and implement consistent practices, processes, and procedures. Consistently implement best practices to ensure the most efficient and effective processes are in place. Ensure efficient use of patient and staff time and optimize patient flow and resource utilization. Respond to the changing needs of the outpatient practice and provide trained and competent staff, a functional and safe physical environment, and appropriate supplies
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with the Patient Appointment Center (PAC), Health Information Management (HIM), and clinic leadership to mitigate issues and coordinate best practices
  • Manage medical record collection systems, including coordination with IT for fixes, upgrades, and changes
  • Identify and advocate for resources to provide adequate staffing levels. Optimize staff productivity and promote a positive and productive environment, encouraging teamwork and communication
  • Professional development, teamwork, research - participate in departmental, program, and institutional committees and task forces. Facilitate professional development of staff and self. Identify and facilitate implementation of best practices, process improvement, and research opportunities
  • Human Resources - responsible for staff adherence to all Moffitt policies and procedures. Hire and retain competent staff. Mentor, develop, and coach staff to optimize their skills. When necessary, use progressive discipline to align staff with the organization and department.
  • Credentials and Qualifications:

    · Bachelors in Management, healthcare or since is required. Bachelors in Nursing is preferred,

    · 5 years of experience in a medical setting is required with 2 years in a leadership role is required.

    · Knowledge of Cerner System or electronic medical record is preferred.

    · BLS instructor certification is preferred
