Job Description

Schedule -  Monday through Friday -  2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Position Highlights

The Security Officer is directly responsible for making every professional attempt to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. A high degree of visibility and vigilance with emphasis on crime deterrence and prevention coupled with guest relations oriented attitudes are mandatory, and job related requirements. 

 Responsibilities

This position is responsible for oversight of the vendor/contractor badging process and enforcing the Center's policies on compliance with these issues.  This position will also issue ID badges for all employees, students and volunteers at Moffitt. 

 Other responsibilities of this position include activating and issuing access control cards, enrolling designated staff in the biometric security system and operating the Center's Lost & Found.

 Required Education:

Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. 

Preferred Education: 

AA degree or above in criminal justice or job related field

Required Licensure:

Maintain a current driver's license.

Required Experience/Skills:

Five (5) years security required – experience in a hospital setting preferred. Law enforcement, military service or military police years of experience may be substituted on a one for one basis specific to years of experience.
