SR Engineer Interoperability

Position Highlights:

  • The Senior Engineer, Interoperability will have a high level support role and provide expertise in architecting, deploying and maintaining the integration and interoperability frameworks essential to support the information exchange needs within and external to the organization.
  • The incumbent will be a subject matter expert in point to point, streaming, asynchronous, and event driven integrations.
  • The person would be critical to and be both responsible and accountable for design and operational delivery of the interoperability initiatives.
  • Additionally the role would supervise, guide and mentor other engineers and analysts to ensure desired organizational business outcomes are attained.
  • This role combines the technical aspects of interoperability with the business understanding of the systems and processes involved.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, deploy and maintain key deliverables.
  • Lead the interoperability engineering and analyst team in ensuring all integration documentation is up to the agreed upon standards
  • Assist in Selecting the right technologies for integration initiatives.
  • Collaborate, educate and train the necessary stakeholders to ensure positive business outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain HL7 and non-HL7 interfaces for clinical, research and business systems.
  • Provide on-call support .
  • Update and maintain project, incident and change control systems
  • Document and maintain integration systems
  • Be a go to person and subject matter expert to interoperability engineers and analysts

Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – field of study: Computer Science, System Analysis or a related study
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in full life cycle implementations of integration initiatives using one or more middle­ware technologies
    • Masters Degree and Minimum of 5 years of experience in full life cycle implementations of integration initiatives using one or more middle­ware technologies will be considered and is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with cross functional teams providing expert knowledge for data analysis and modeling activities that drive integration requirements and deployment
  • Ability to understand and work with complex, large enterprise business environments.
  • Relevant experience in a research, academic, scientific environment or healthcare provider is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, deploying and supporting integration frameworks for favorable business outcomes
  • Worked on Unix platforms and past experiences in scripting languages
  • Identifying best practices, emerging trends in the interoperability world and implement solutions within the realm of the departments strategic initiatives
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Strong grasp of SDLC and ITSM frameworks.
  • Ability to critically evaluate and recommend appropriate solutions and technologies desired to attain strategic business outcomes
  • Ability to collaborate and work with cross functional teams
  • Organizational communication and change management
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, HL7, Clinical workflow and terminology
