Interoperability Manager

Position Highlights:

  • The Manager Interoperability will have leadership and strategic responsibilities for guiding and ensuring the support of technology that delivers electronic data interchange across Moffitt systems and partners.
  • The role will be critical for accurate and timely delivery of the real time and batch information needs for all clinical, research, and operational functions working in conjunction with other technology teams.
  • The incumbent will be charged with ensuring the Center has a long term road map for among others point to point, streaming, asynchronous, and event driven integrations.
  • In addition to internal operational needs, the Manager of Interoperability will be responsible for designing and supporting integrations to serve the Moffitt partnership network including payers, healthcare delivery organizations, and other industry partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Training, coaching and mentoring team members
  • Set and monitor annual goals and drive the team members towards fulfilling them.
  • Develop a strong, creative team aimed at achieving consistency and efficiency
  • Proactively identify emerging trends in the space of interoperability that pertain to the organizational excellence
  • Formulate a plan to identify and fill the interoperability skill gap necessary to assist in digital innovation
  • Ensure resource management and prioritization in alignment with the IT departmental goals and deliverables
  • Effectively communicate via digital and verbal means with the internal and external stakeholders
  • Devise a plan where the team members can document inventory, standards, processes and procedures related to interoperability to be consumed by the partnering stakeholders
  • Be a self learner, motivator and ensure accountability is respected by all team members

Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – field of study: Computer Science, System Analysis or a related study
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience working with integrations in a healthcare or like environment
    • Masters Degree with 7 years of experience working with integrations in a healthcare or like environment will be accepted and is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in progressively leading and influencing cross functional teams
  • Experience coordinating initiatives between multiple business units from technical support to corporate executives
  • Ability to understand and work with complex, large enterprise business environments
  • Demonstrated experience to take ownership and deliver results in a leadership role with moderate direction
  • Past hands-on experience working with interoperability technologies, understanding HIPAA guidelines and the industry standards, protocols relevant to health care data exchange
  • Demonstrated ability to forecast and manage budgets including but not limited to capital and operational initiatives
  • Relevant experience in a research, academic, scientific environment or healthcare provider is a plus.
  • Practical experience implementing ITIL based processes and depth of understanding the ITIL framework through formal training
  • Responsible for leading a team of engineers and analysts
  • Define roles and responsibilities for the interoperability team members
  • Provide tactical and strategic recommendations to leadership based on industry trends
