Job Description
Job Summary:
A registered pharmacy technician is someone other than a licensed pharmacist or pharmacy intern that performs pharmacy tasks and duties as delegated by a licensed pharmacist that do not fall within the purview of Florida Statue 465.003(13). All such delegated acts will be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist who is responsible for all such acts performed by persons under his or her supervision as outlined in Florida Statue 465.014.
These supervised tasks and duties include but are not limited to: initiating or receiving communications with patient provider team members to facilitate patient care for: refill authorization requests, assisting in patient appointment review, medical records review, insurance authorization review, processing of prescriptions, including investigational medications utilized in clinical trials in compliance with policies and procedures set forth by the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and/or medications associated with Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategies (REMS). Registered Pharmacy technician may also perform assistance in the compounding, preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical and investigational preparations following USP standards and hospital policy, inventory stewardship, keeping records and making reports required by law, and processing of documents required by the hospital.
Education Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Must have graduated from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or have experience that qualifies them for licensure as outlined in Florida Statutes, Section 465.014.

Registered PharmacyTechnician (RPhT)
Minimum Required:
Newly graduated from Pharmacy Technician Training program and/or less than 1 year as a Registered Pharmacy
