Job Description

This position reports to the Disability Resource Center Manager. The Senior Associate serves as the primary resource to educate, train, and guide the college community in understanding disability access, rights, and responsibilities. Will manage a comprehensive program of services for students with disabilities, i.e., taking a case management approach, assist with day-to-day responsibilities of managing the DRC, i.e., classified/hourly staff and student workers.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Special Education, College Student Personnel, Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or related Human Service Field) from an accredited college or university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 years related professional experience, knowledge of ADAA law and sections 504/508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
1 year of managerial experience.
Knowledge of confidentiality laws regarding accommodations and records.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Skilled in making presentations.
Knowledge and skills in the use of Microsoft Office software.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in a related field from a regionally accredited College or University.
Proven track record of leadership in disability resources and services.
Experience supervising staff, including student workers.
Experience handling confidential information professionally and routinely.
Experience making presentations, training, and serving as a resource to faculty, staff, and external groups.
Demonstrated awareness of sensitivity and commitment to diversity, inclusivity and able to effectively engage with diverse personalities and students with disabilities.
Experience and knowledge, training in State and Federal laws related to Disability Rights: ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 508, ADAAA and their application to higher education.
Experience in engagement and assessment of successful student retention models.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience providing consultation in accommodations for students, faculty, and staff with disabilities in higher education.
Experience in the concepts of universal design for instruction and the social model of disability.
Knowledge of models of disability and inclusive educational design and their application to higher education.
Serve as an integral part of the DRC regarding strategic planning, data collection, and special projects.
Experience in the use of Microsoft Office software.
Experience entering and maintaining data systems for financial, quantitative, and qualitative reports.
The duties, knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Ability to travel to local high schools, CSN campuses (3), and other community locations to represent the DRC at key transition events.
Ability to work non-standard hours as needed.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Possess excellent customer service skills.
Ability to thrive in a diverse employment setting.
Ability to provide consultation in accommodations for students, faculty, and staff with disabilities in higher education.

Starting Salary Range
Administrative Faculty C - The starting salary is $53,805
