Job Description Summary:

With supervision, will perform high level duties and/or research functions for the purpose of developing a working knowledge of a specific area of study.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks
  • Assists the Director of the Defense Technology Acceleration Center (D-TAC) in all aspects of D-TAC operations.
  • Conducts special projects including the design of programs and initiatives, including conceptualization, planning, facilitation and assessment under the direct supervision/guidance of the Director.
  • Advises the D-TAC Director on student perspectives and needs.
  • Communicates with students, staff, partners, and stakeholders addressing issues when able, and coordinating with the Director when guidance is needed.
  • Conducts research into information management and in consultation with the Director creates information management procedures for the D-TAC including the construction of distribution lists, organization of a shared/common drive (Google), references required for the D-TAC and documentation of past D-TAC initiatives and events.
  • Assists in all aspects of administration with an emphasis on budgeting and purchasing.
  • Assists in D-TAC communication and outreach.
Additional Job Specific Duties
  • Seeks opportunities to leverage computer science skills to optimize D-TAC use of information technology.
  • Develops relationships with students, staff, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring relationships are identified and turned over to the Director or other appropriate staff (including future interns).
  • Documents all activities to facilitate transition upon completion of internship.

  • Understanding of standard office applications, ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is routinely performed in an office environment.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
