This role assumes a lead role in assisting the senior director and HIMS managers with the daily operations of the Health Information Management Department. Provides technical and administrative assistance to managers. Supports HIMS staff as needed to ensure required technical and operational resources are addressed. Assists with the on-boarding and general training for all new hires and contracted staff. Communicates with all levels of HIMS staff to extend messaging as appropriate. Reports on and assists with identified systems issues. Assists with system testing; contributes to writing test plans if requested. Completes department specific KPI statistics and aggregates department metrics for reporting purposes. Analyses data, identifies trends and reports to managers and HIMS director. Coordinates with section designees for performance board content and presentations. Responsible for coordinating HIMS department meetings and collecting content from managers and director. Manages the contract approval process for all HIMS related contracts.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Assists with supporting the daily operations in the HIMS department with an emphasis on operational administrative duties
- Provides assistance to the HIMS Director and Managers by reviewing and processing all incoming invoices.
- Monitors daily reports to ensure the teams are on target with established metrics and works with the managers and designees to identify issues
- Assists HIMS mangers in updating section policy and procedures
- Responsible for the on-boarding, general orientation and training process of new hires with the HIMS department
- Coordinates HIMS performance rounding schedules and assists HIMS managers with section Performance Board related tasks as needed
- Prepares and updates recurring and routine budget expenditure internal reports. Collects and verifies data
- Coordinates HIMS department meetings and content
- Assists with communicating and troubleshooting computer/application system issues with the ITS.
- Creates on-line training material for HIMS managers using available software
- Maintains professional growth and development and keeps abreast of latest trends in area of expertise
Your qualifications should include:
- Associate’s degree.
- 3 years experience in a support role or lead role, preferably in health information management.
- Medical Terminology.
- Preferably: Associate Degree in Health Information Management. Five years experience working in a Health Information Management department.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $26.42 - $36.99 / hour
