What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a Mechanical Task Lead Facilities Technologist to join our team! In this role you will support the Mechanical Craft, Maintenance Team Leader, and Department Manager in day-to-day activities with the desire to help shape the future of the Organization.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Assist in the creation, planning, execution, and close-out of maintenance work orders.
- Assist with field issues, material management, troubleshooting customer issues, managing follow-up work, Job Site Hazard Evaluation (JSHE) review, outage coordination, and researching technical issues.
- Support the coordination of work involving multiple craft disciplines, tracking progress of tasks, and communicate with other maintenance teams.
- Coordinate craft assignments, review work orders for completeness and accuracy, forecast crew availability, respond to urgent calls, and conduct Pre/Post job briefings when the Maintenance Team Leader is absent.
- Coordinate activities between Facility Area Management teams and the maintenance teams.
- Develop working relationships with the EMCC (Emergency Management Control Center), ES&H, Procurement, and Planning to facilitate work.
- Develop relationships across the entire group, working directly with Electrical Services and Structural Services, to improve processes.
- Assist with ordering tools and special equipment as needed.
- Manage the Fleet requirements and tool inventory for the Mechanical Services Department.
- Carry the non-standard hours on-call phone for after-hours calls on a rotating schedule
- Provide onsite support for Saturday work approximately every 6 weeks.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 100% of the time.
Qualifications We Require:
- High School diploma or equivalent, plus 5 years or more years of relevant experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Mechanical HVAC, refrigeration, building automation, control systems or other relevant experience.
- Providing maintenance support for facilities maintenance organizations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
- Active DOE Q-level security clearance.
- Experience using Maximo.
- Experience with FCS (Facilities Control Systems)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with experience organizing and coordinating multiple high-priority tasks.
- Ability to work in a high functioning environment coordinating the work of a multidisciplinary team.
About Our Team:
Mechanical Services provides operations, maintenance, and repair services to all of Sandia's facility mechanical systems on a 24-hour basis, specifically heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems that support mission-essential activities at Sandia.
