What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking an Information Systems Engineering Manager to lead the Enterprise Business Intelligence & Integrations (EBII) Department in the Enterprise Information Management group!
Our team leads the enterprise in delivery of business intelligence solutions (dashboards, reporting, and analytics), standards, and technical products that are a core component of Sandia’s enterprise information systems. In addition, we define, design, and implement full life cycle API management solutions that efficiently integrate systems and services to support modern and extensible IT architectures. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with teams and leadership across IT, Finance, Project Management, HR, Facilities, ES&H, Cyber Security, as well as key vendors and mission customers, including NNSA.
On any given day you may be called on to:
- Lead department-level planning for tool and technology choices and support group and center strategic conversations and decisions
- Lead engagement and communication with key functional and program management colleagues for partnered work and execution
- Provide mentoring and direction to staff including developing career goals and working to align assignments and skills development with those goals
- Assure program/capability/service execution (department-level budgets, resourcing, and deliverables) and address performance and execution challenges
- Lead a team with varied and flexible work arrangements including virtual work, telecommuting, staff at customer locations, matrix agreements, and on-call requirements
- Act as a liaison between customers, technical staff, or DOE/NNSA on technical initiatives
- Engage technically across the department to understand and represent work while rationalizing products and services towards value for stakeholders
- Participate in the development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people, and assist in determining how to optimize resources to meet work scope, schedules, budgets, and organizational goals
- Manage the personnel in the organization by encouraging a diverse work environment and ensuring a culture that promotes inclusion, diversity, safety, and security
- Travel to vendor or customer locations
- Support both unclassified and classified environments and conversations
The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Qualifications We Require:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus 8 years of experience; or equivalent (AS + 12 years or no degree plus 16 years)
- Included in the experience above:
- At least 5 years of relevant technical leadership of software/IT projects with scrum-sized teams (5-9 people) or larger
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
- Graduate degree in computer science, information systems, or other relevant advanced degree.
- Proficiency with and demonstrated innovation and support in the lifecycle engineering of:
- Enterprise data architecture
- Data integration between COTS and Sandia-developed solutions, specifically API management
- Development and sustaining of data extract/transport/load in support of business functions
- Experience and expertise with data systems, data curation, and data reporting and analysis capabilities and tools, including SSRS, PowerBI, Tableau, and others
- Proven use of and certifications in Agile software processes and development methodology, such as Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, or equivalent
- Demonstrated history of project management and delivery of IT and software projects within cost, schedule, and performance constraints
- Experience troubleshooting and/or performing anomaly resolution and triage for complex IT systems
- Proactive engagement with customers and colleagues to manage execution uncertainties and the impact of new information
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of service management processes and architectures such as ITIL and ITSM
- Experience in building, developing, and maintaining a team of highly skilled interdisciplinary IT professionals
- An active DOE Q-Level clearance (or equivalent) to start

Security Clearance:

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
