What You Will Achieve

Pfizer’s Source to Pay (S2P) delivers world-class procurement capabilities to Pfizer, partnering with internal Pfizer customers to ensure they receive maximum value for every dollar spent with Pfizer suppliers. We accomplish this by executing effective strategic processes, including API category management, supplier management and sourcing projects, all supported by efficient procure to pay processes.

As a Manager, the objective of this role is to continuously improve the quality and service through innovative solutions, effective API sourcing and demand management practices. The role combines supplier relationship management and risk management, requiring significant data analysis, industry benchmarking, and knowledge management of API cost trends.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Lead the strategic sourcing process within the S2P Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) portfolio – identifying opportunities, analysing needs, planning projects using internal and external data and formulating Category Management strategies.

  • Lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams to execute the procurement process and plans - enabling supplier selection and decision, negotiating terms, process & contract management, ensuring price, quality, service targets and standards are achieved

  • Develop appropriate risk management strategies to assure supply of Pfizer's API requirements.

  • Execute the elements Pfizer's Supplier Management process in accordance with program guidelines, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Effectively utilize Pfizer's eSourcing capabilities in advancing sourcing initiatives.

  • Build relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders including business leaders and cross-functional teams, to understand business requirements and develop sourcing strategies that align with company goals and objectives.

  • Work with other Pfizer functions and departments to assist budget owners in development of operating budgets and efficient P2P processes through effective communication of supplier pricing and related cost improvement initiatives.

  • Support Pfizer's Diversity and Inclusion objectives as applicable to strategic category management within S2P.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing complex, cross-functional activities.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.

  • Knowledge of fundamentals of Project Management, including experience leading projects.

Nice-to-Have

  • Master’s degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, processes and procedures.

  • Exhibits business expertise and an understanding of the external marketplace and customer requirements.

  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills.
