Facilities Services' responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.
Job Summary
This Position Pest Control Worker Is responsible for execution of the Integrated Pest Management 1PM) Program within and around the facilities on Augusta University Campuses; performs application of pesticides in and around buildings and other structures on Augusta University Campuses; Assist in oversight of vendors engaged in campus pest control services; Inspects buildings and premises for signs of pests or infestation; and maintains accurate inventory of all campus interior and exterior bait stations.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Resolves pest control issues on interior and perimeter of all buildings on Health Sciences, Summerville, and Forest Hills Campuses. This includes Collect, prepare, and submits samples of pests to GA. Dept. of Agriculture or appropriate agency and removal and proper disposal of animal carcasses found in buildings.
- Inspects all buildings regularly to proactively identify problem areas. Services all buildings according to established schedule.
- Maintains accurate inventory, monitors, and services all termite stations, rodent bait stations and addresses other pest control needs throughout the campus.
- Mix chemicals as needed and ensures applications are consistent with Department of Agriculture and GA State laws.
- Maintain MSDS book, application records, chemical inventories, and completes closes out work order reports using the appropriate CMMS platform.
- Responds to customer requests and resolves concerns.
- Follows up on issues and keeps the EVS management informed of progress.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from high school, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accredited organization. One year of experience as a pest control operator, trainee, or apprentice.
Must be a registered technician with the Georgia Pest Control Association (GPCA) and be capable of obtaining within one year of employment, a Commercial Pesticide Applicators License category 35. Must have a valid driver's license.

Shift: Days: Monday - Friday
Pay Grade: 7
Salary Minimum: $15.00/hourly
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment

Driver's License Statement
The Human Resources Division will request a driver's history report for the identified top candidate(s) for this position. We will initiate this through our Background Check Vendor; this report will come from the Department of Motor Vehicles. The selected candidate must have a valid driver's license.
